Mirador Villa Litoral

I walked to 4.2 km to Mirador Villa Litoral to see the city and the majestic Illimani mountain from a different perspective. It is more of a local attraction rather than a major tourist hub, but it is known for its quiet, romantic atmosphere.

On my way, I ran into a street vendor and got my quinoa drink for breakfast (2.5b). I have been trying to find it but I went in the streets too late and they were mostly sold out. Quinoa drink is highly beneficial due to its dense nutritional profile, rich in protein, fiber, and essential minerals, which supports weight management, heart health, and digestion. A traditional Andean hot quinoa drink is a nutritious and creamy beverage, often spiced with cinnamon and cloves. In Peru, it's widely known as quinoa con manzana (quinoa with apple) and is a popular breakfast staple. In Bolivia, a similar version is a common street food, particularly on cold mornings. The consistency of the drink can vary from a thinner "juice" to a thick, porridge-like consistency, and it can be prepared with water, milk, or a combination of both.

I also passed via a pet street full of pet shops and veterinary offices, as well as animal paintings on buildings.

I then walked toward the nearby Mirador La Cruz de San Antonio which route turned from cement stairs into a steep sliding rick slope. As I was by myself, I couldn’t risk to get injury. So I walked down to find other paths to get to the overlook. However, a group of dogs started barking at me aggressively and there was nobody else, so I gave up this overlook and left for lunch

My 3.2 km walk from the overlook towards the Restaurant Japonés Kenchan was mostly downhill and passed several bridges. The restaurant was in a side street of the Ave. Arce.  The American Embassy, the UK embassy, the Brazil embassy, etc. are all located on Ave. Arce. At the end of Ave. Arce, I found a statue of Confucio in Plaza Confucio situated nearby to the university Posgrado Universidad Nacional Siglo XX, as well as near the government office Residencia Presidencial. The statue of Confucius appears to be donated by Taiwan in 1973.  After lunch, I walked back to downtown to buy more souvenirs then went back to the hostel.
