from São Paulo, Brazil to Montevideo, Uruguay

I almost missed my flight from São Paulo, Brazil to Montevideo, Uruguay (my 98th country), since the boarding pass and online info showed terminal 2 while the airport board showed terminal 3 without gate number. It was super confusing and the two terminal was 25 min walk away.  It turned out GOL wanted guests to check in luggages in terminal 2, while all international flights and passport control are in terminal 3.

I took two buses to get from the Montevideo airport to the hostel, and walked around the southern shore of Mqontevideo in the afternoon. It was in 60s and windy so definitely no swimming.  I strolled via Parque Rodo - Montevideo's main park with numerous amusement facilities, as well as  a south portion of the Rambla — a waterside roadway with people biking, fishing, drinking mate, and enjoying the great views. With a total length of 22 kilometers (13.6 miles), the Rambla goes along Montevideo's waterfront. Lovely at sunset.

I also checked out the Punta Carretas Shopping Mall located in a former prison where the military regime used to torture dissidents. It has several levels, a food court, cineplex and full-service dining options. It is currently the most upscale mall in Uruguay (although still small by U.S. standards) and features several boutiques for international fashion brands. Although AI told me Grocery prices in Montevideo are comparable to those in São Paulo, I found common costs for groceries often found to be higher in Montevideo, especially fresh fruits and vegetables.
